TODAY, Wexler Holds District Events in Palm Beach and Broward Counties
All Events Open to Press
(Washington, DC) Today, Congressman Robert Wexler's (D-FL) schedule is as follows:
10:00 am:
Congressman Wexler and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz will visit the Daniel D. Cantor Senior Center in Sunrise, Florida to discuss how the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan is providing Florida with over $7.2 million in funding for seniors nutritional services. Currently, Florida serves over 55,000 seniors with programs like Meals on Wheels as well as congregate meals services provided at locations like the Daniel Cantor Senior Center. The economic stimulus package will allow Florida to help an additional 13,000 financially strained seniors receive healthy meals. The Daniel Cantor Senior Center is located at 5000 Nob Hill Road in Sunrise.

Congressman Wexler will hold a town hall meeting focusing on the economy at the South County Civic Center in Delray Beach, Florida. In order to help South Florida families faced with the possibility of foreclosure, Congressman Wexler has assembled for the event a wide range of experts on housing and foreclosure issues, including Victoria Williams, Consumer Outreach Coordinator for Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink, foreclosure Judge Jack Cook of the 15th Judicial Circuit, and Bonnie Conrad, a representative from HUD affiliate Neighborworks. The South County Civic Center is located at 16700 Jog Road in Delray Beach.
Congressman Robert Wexler is Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe and a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Judiciary Committee. Recently, Congressman Wexler served as an advisor on Middle East issues to President Barack Obama during his 2008 presidential campaign.
