Wexler to Travel to Czech Republic and Israel
Will Participate in Prague Conference on Holocaust Assets and Meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu and Key Officials in Israel

(Washington, DC) {Congressman Robert Wexler (D-FL), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe and a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, will travel to Israel from July 1 to 3, 2009, where he will meet with Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu for the third time in the past six weeks. The Congressman’s trip to Israel will immediately follow his participation at the Prague Conference on Holocaust Era Assets, which will take place June 28 to 30, 2009. Wexler was appointed as an official member of the U.S. Department of State delegation by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Congressman Wexler, who served as an advisor on Middle East issues to President Barack Obama during his 2008 presidential campaign, is planning to meet Prime Minister Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman. Israeli Opposition Leader Tzipi Livni, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, and other key officials. During the meetings, Wexler will focus on strengthening US-Israeli relations, the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, Arab-Israeli relations, Syria,  preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons and counter-terrorism cooperation.

 

Congressman Robert Wexler is Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe and a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Judiciary Committee. Recently, Congressman Wexler served as an advisor on Middle East issues to President Barack Obama during his 2008 presidential campaign.
