Wexler Honors Sarah Franco of Jewish Adoptions and Foster Care Options with Angels in Adoption Award
Angels in Adoption Awarded by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute
(Washington, DC) Today, Congressman Robert Wexler (D-FL) presented Sarah Franco, Executive Director of Jewish Adoptions and Foster Care Options (JAFCO), with the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s Angels in Adoption award. Congressman Wexler nominated Sarah for the award in acknowledgment of JAFCO’s extraordinary contributions to the South Florida community. The Angels in Adoption program is the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s signature public awareness campaign, which allows members of Congress to honor the good work of local organizations and constituents who have enriched the lives of foster children and orphans in America.
“Under the leadership of Sarah Franco, JAFCO has touched the lives of thousands of children and families in South Florida,” said Congressman Wexler. “It is an honor to present Sarah with the Angels in Adoption award, which truly recognizes the importance of JAFCO’s mission to provide every child with a safe and loving home. JAFCO is a stellar organization that truly exemplifies the community’s commitment to social justice and betterment of the world.”
Since 1992, Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Options, Inc. (JAFCO) has served abused and neglected children in the Jewish community by striving to provide children with a familiar cultural and religious environment. The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) is a 501(c)3 nonpartisan organization dedicated to raising awareness about the tens of thousands of orphans and foster children in the United States and the millions of orphans around the world in need of permanent, safe, and loving homes through adoption.
Congressman Robert Wexler is Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe and a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Judiciary Committee. Recently, Congressman Wexler served as an advisor on Middle East issues to President Barack Obama during his 2008 presidential campaign.
