3:30 PM Press Conference on How Palm Beach County Schools are Putting Federal Economic Stimulus Dollars to Work Palm Beach County School Board, Winona W. Jordan Board Chambers 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL
Congressman Wexler will detail how stimulus funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is providing a lifeline to Palm Beach County Schools in the midst of the national economic crisis and devastating cuts from the state legislature. Joining Congressman Wexler will be School Board Chair Bill Graham and Superintendent Dr. Arthur Johnson.
4:30 PM Congressional Art Competition Reception Gallery Center 608 Banyan Trail, Boca Raton
Students from Florida's 19th District have submitted works of art for the annual Congressional Arts Competition, a national competition that gathers students from every congressional district in the country for art seminars held in Washington, DC. Congressman Wexler will present the winning high school student with three plane tickets to Washington, DC. The winner's art work will be displayed in the United States Capitol for one year.
7:00 PM Briefing on Israel and the Middle East with the Jewish Community Relations Council Kay Auditorium, JARC Building Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County Campus, west of Boca (South on 95th Ave from Glades Road, between Lyons and 441)
Congressman Wexler will deliver a speech on Israel and the Middle East at this briefing organized by the Jewish Community Relations Council. Congressman Wexler has met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu twice in the past two weeks - both in Israel and in Washington, DC. The Congressman's remarks will focus several important foreign policy issues, including the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian peace process, efforts to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons, and the need for more Arab countries in the Middle East to normalize relations with Israel.
